In a chorus to one of his songs, Lucky Dube admonished us “to be good to the people on your (our) way up the ladder because you (we) need them on your (our) way down”. (add “that’s the way it is” X3 to complete the chorus).
With the grace of God, work, purpose and determination, you will climb up the ladder and get to the top. And we expect you will remain on top.
But to remain at the top doesn’t mean you don’t need people – either those you started with, met on the way or even at the top with.
At the top, you need great support of everyone right from the bottom to continue staying up. Build good friendships (not only conditioned on material gains) and be good to everyone.
You will not only need people on your way down, you need them to stay at the top too!
