Leaders are like bus drivers. They use their best skills and expertise to ensure passengers (followers) get to a destination.
On any such journey, the bus driver and the passengers should presumably know where the bus is headed.
Such common knowledge helps in winning commitment and driving support for the
journey.
To have a bus driver, who thinks he/she is doing the best to keep passengers on board without letting them know where the bus is going is a mistaken understanding of a leader’s role. Such a driver may get to such “destination” without passengers or with
dissatisfied ones – not their intended destination.
So, it is not just for you to lead, it is also important you let people know where you are leading them to.
