STEVE JOBS WAS ONCE WEARING SHIRTS WITH TIE

Recently, I wrote about defying norms and used the Steve Jobs example of dressing casually on probably his biggest days – the launch of Apple’s new products.

But Steve didn’t use to dress that way all his life. Long before then, he was seen in many TV interviews (presumably his early work life) wearing shirts with tie – dressed professionally.

So what may have accounted for his latter new style and defying the norm moments?

You may have guessed right – the feeling of dominance, recognition and reward.

At that moment, he was winding down after long hours of ingenuity, innovation and focus/determination.

He had achieved almost all there was to achieve. He didn’t have to introduce himself any more. He was to be noticeable even if naked.

So the types of cloths he wore didn’t matter anymore.

He became the “statement” and what people looked forward to not how he dressed.

So, as you continue to build, recognize the stage and it’s demands. Don’t fall for the trappings of those who have technically arrived.

Keep working, keep grinding and observe that which is required now – know your freedom is coming.
