In my early professional life at Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, one of our managers use to encourage us to have “crystal hard shinning balls” – implying having an unadulterated confidence (courage) in ourselves regarding the works we were assigned.
He understood the challenges of our work and the fear we may have harbored about the impossibilities of our daily tasks.
It was a battlefield requiring men (and women) of steel, tenacity and courage.
Unbeknown to many, it was our proud badge of “Courage” that made us succeed all the time.
We were fearless – and took on challenges greater in proportions.
Our good old days (as many remember Guinness for) was driven by COURAGE.
To succeed you’ve got to be courageous.
