We do not have an “African time” and “Time” in itself – so stop saying it.
“TIME” is time. If in the same time zone, 2pm is 2pm.
In our part of the world, how we have become accustomed to being late to every event, engagement, assignment etc with the excuse that “this is Africa” (African time) is mind-boggling.
It is a failure to appreciate the fact that even the “life” we live and cherish so much is measured in time – we are born and die by time.
I detest with passion any attitude to time which is not prompt and exact. For me, 2pm be 2pm.
Respect time. Use time well and you will go places – the world is moving by time, you can’t afford to be late because you believe in African time.
Respect time – it’s the first sign of respect for others. (Wish I can say this loudest).
